About Dalavich and surrounding area |
The village of Dalavich is first mentioned in records in 1649, though it is thought to long predate this. The forestry village as it is today was originally established by the Forestry Commission in 1952 and a number of locals earn their living from forestry to this day. It’s unsurprising, then, that most of the buildings are wooden. So you can relax in the peaceful and calm environment around the The Old School holiday apartments Oban. While staying at this oban self catering accommodation, you will feel that the time has got rewind.
Although it’s off the beaten track, you can still pick up some supplies or treat yourself to a cappuccino at the village shop and café to enjoy your oban holiday. Perhaps linger a while and write a few postcards while you’re at these holiday apartments oban (it’s also a part-time post office) relaxing at the self catering accommodation in Scotland having a fruitful holiday oban..
Other village amenities include a church and a social club within the community centre. So you can stroll across for a pint in the evening (or sample a local dram …)
The village also hosted a primary school until it was closed in 1997 due to insufficient pupil numbers. The school building has been renovated recently and is now The Old School self catering accommodation oban.
